3 Rings - Day 2

Two good games were played today and it was great to see the DOMINATOR hit an auto against Albion. Unfortunately not enough though to close the score line though.
Today was also the home run derby and Adrian tried hard to represent, but only managed to get one out of the ball park.

An early game in the morning will see the boys play Waimea Eagles at 9:00 am (ouch)

Rained out in Nelson

Well as we predicted the rain came and no games were played in Nelson today!
The Pirates however headed to Blenheim for a double header and we should hear back some results later on tonight.
The R & B ladies stayed at home too this weekend with a few injuries keeping them back.

No club softball next Saturday as the 3 Rings Tournament is on and we have entered a Mens team into this. Games start Saturday and continue Sunday and Monday. Once we have a draw we will get it posted and hope to see you down there supporting.

NZ United - Webb Shield

That's right guys it's time to start planning for the Webb Shield which is in New Plymouth next Easter. It seems along way away but it will creep up quickly so it's time to start saving and fundraising for the trip.
We are hoping to all travel together this year by bus or van. The plan is to leave the Thursday night and stay in Wellington and then head up.
We will stay in New Plymouth the Friday, Saturday and Sunday and return on the Monday.
If you have not been to a Webb Shield before they are alot of fun.
So let your coach or manager know ASAP if you are keen to come.

Softball - Week 2

The United teams battled it out again this weekend and mixed results were seen in all three games.

The Titans beat the Pirates 10 runs to 8. A much closer game than last week with Mark putting in a great pitching effort for the Pirates.
Player of the day for the Pirates for the first game was birthday boy Jason.

A small injury saw Ben retire on the pitchers mound in the fourth innings for the Titans and Dom had to come in to finish the game.
Daniel was the player of the day for the Titans this week for his amazing glove work on third base and the damage that he did with the bat, which kept the Titans in the lead.

In the second game for the Pirates had a tough match on their hands against the Waimea team and came off second best. Player of the day for this game was Cary.

R & B played well against Royals and their player of the day was Shirley.

A great effort all round United. Keep it up.

Champions

Champions aren't made in the gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them: a desire, a dream, a vision.
